Wauconda Snowmobile Club Meets Wednesday, Oct. 12
The Wauconda Snowmobile Club will hold their first meeting of the season on Wednesday, October 12th. The meeting will be held at Lindy's Landing, located at 115 Park Street (Park and Main), which is 1/4 mile north of the intersection of Rt. 176 (Liberty St.) and Main Street in downtown Wauconda on Bangs Lake. The meeting will start at 7:30 pm, and newcomers are welcome.
Established in 1967, the Wauconda Snowmobile Club is one of the original snowmobile clubs in Illinois. The Club is involved in the two local trail associations, the Northeastern Illinois Association of Snowmobile Clubs and the McHenry County Snowmobile Association. The Club is also a member of the illinois Association of Snowmobile Clubs.
You do not have to snowmobile in Illionis to benefit from joining an area Club, for numerous trips out of state are planned, the Club works closely with the area snowmobile dealers, snowmobile safety classes are taught, and it is also active with our legislators to make sure there is a place to ride and snowmobiles to ride on.
Since its inception in 1967, the Wauconda Snowmobile Club has seen numerous changes in the sport and in the community. The Club continues to be involved in numerous community activities and enthusiastically promotes safe, recreational snowmobiling through monthly meetings, email alerts, advocacy, social activity, and support of snowmobile safety classes. The Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month from October through March.
